Chicken Cantonese

Chicken Cantonese

A great way to include mushrooms in your meal plan, and a delicious meal for the chicken lovers. As we like to say, good family food.

Total time to cook: 1 hour
Serves: 6
Category: Side dish, seafood, chicken, healthy recipe,
Ingredients:
  1. 2 1/2 c. cubed cooked chicken
  2. 2 c. sliced celery
  3. 1 med. green pepper, chopped
  4. 1 can condense cream of chicken soup
  5. 1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  6. 1 can mushroom pieces, drained
  7. 1 jar diced pimento, drained
  8. 2 tsp. soy sauce
  9. 1/4 c. chopped cashews
  10. 1 c. chow mien noodles
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Combine chicken, celery, green pepper, soup, water chestnuts, mushrooms, pimento and soy sauce in 2-quart casserole; mix well.
  2. Cover with casserole lid.
  3. Microwave (high) 7 to 8 minutes or until heated through, stirring once.
  4. Add cashews and chow mein noodles; mix lightly.
  5. Microwave (high) uncovered 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until heated through.
  6. You may wish to substitute turkey or another favorite cooked meat or fish for the chicken.
  7. Save a few chow mein noodles to use for a garnish.

Punjabi Fish

This is a really simple dish you can serve with your favorite Indian dish.

Total time to cook: 40 minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients:
  1. 8 fish fillet
  2. 200 gms gram flour
  3. 1 tbsp garlic paste
  4. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  5. 1 tsp ajwain
  6. 1 tbsp red chili powder
  7. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  8. 1 egg
  9. 100 gms curd
  10. oil for deep frying
  11. Salt To Taste
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Clean, wash and cut fish into one and a half inch size cubes.
  2. Apply salt, lime juice, ginger paste, garlic paste and red chilli powder.
  3. Keep aside for 20 minutes.
  4. Make a batter of gram flour, curd, egg, ajwain, salt and water.
  5. Keep marinated fish pieces dipped in this batter for 15 minutes.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the fish till golden brown and crisp.
  7. Serve hot sprinkled with chaat masala and lemon wedges.

Pleasing Pot Roast

Your guests will love this creamy Beef noodles. Try our Pleasing pot roast.

Total time to cook: 30 minutes
Serves: 5

Ingredients:Roast
  1. 3-4 lb bottom round roast
  2. 2 large onions, peeled
  3. Salt and pepper
  4. Extra virgin olive oil
  5. 16 oz wide egg noodles
Gravy:
  1. 12 ginger snaps
  2. 4 brown gravy packs
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Salt and pepper the roast all over. Put 2-3 tbsp of olive oil in a large pot.
  2. Place roast in pot and brown on all sides to seal in flavor. Pour warm water in pot until top of roast is just covered.
  3. Add onions and simmer for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. After roast has cooked for 2 1/2 hours, take onions and roast out of water and let cool on a platter while you mix gravy.
  5. Let 1/2 the ginger snaps dissolve in a small glass with water . Add 4 brown gravy packs to roast water and whisk until thickened.
  6. Add ginger snaps.
  7. Dissolve other 6 ginger snaps in same amount of water and add it to gravy and whisk.
  8. Cut roast into thin slices and layer them in gravy.
  9. Add onions back to mixture.
  10. Let it refrigerate overnight. Simmer for another 2 hours the next day. Serve over egg noodles.

Rice with Seafood

This is a super quick version of seafood rice that makes a great side dish for informal gatherings

Total time to cook: 45 minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients: Crust
  1. 2 dozens of squid
  2. 2 dozens small scallops
  3. 2 dozens of mussels
  4. 2 dozens machos
  5. 2 medium red peppers cut in strips
  6. 3 tablespoons of oil
  7. ½ cup of cooked green peas
  8. 2 Medium onions finely chopped
  9. 2 tbsp yellow hot pepper sauce
  10. 2 tablespoons of garlic, ground
  11. 2 tomatoes peeled and cut in pieces
  12. 3 tablespoons coriander, ground
  13. 4 cups rice
  14. 4 ½ cups of water
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Boil and clean the seafood, Heat the oil and fry the onions until golden, add garlic, yellow hot peppers, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
  2. Stir and add the cariander and 4 1/2 cups of water.
  3. Put in the seafood and bring to the boil then add the rice, peas and strips of red pepper.
  4. Simmer until the rice is cooked.

Yummy chicken

A perfect family dish recipe that should be a hit with both kids and adults. Feel free to increase half and half or heavy cream for a more rich taste. You can also add a second chicken breast if your family prefers chunkier.
Total time to cook: 50 minutes

Ingredients:
  1. 4 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
  2. 1 egg, beaten
  3. 6 oz. mozzarella
  4. 1 1/2 c. heavy cream
  5. 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  6. 2/3 c. parmesan cheese
  7. 1/2 c. seasoned breadcrumbs
  8. 1/4 c. vegetable oil
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Dip chicken in egg. Then dip chicken in the seasoned breadcrumbs and coat evenly.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat and brown chicken until it is no longer pink in the middle.
  4. Place chicken in a casserole dish.
  5. Top each piece of chicken with 1 1/2 oz. of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Mix together heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and parsley flakes.
  7. Pour cream mixture over the chicken.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes.

Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Dip chicken breasts in seasoned flour.
  2. Cook in 450 F degree oven for 20 minutes; spray cooking spray on chicken breasts to make a crisp layer over chicken.
  3. Put mozzarella slice on each chicken breast and return to oven for 5 minutes or until melted.
  4. Seasoned flour: Add chili pepper, paprika, or seasoned salt to flour.

Stir Fried Spinach

Tasty spinach flavor, easy to prepare, delicious
Total time to cook: 40 minutes

Ingredients:
  1. 2 cups of cubed cooked lamb
  2. 2 cups of chicken broth
  3. 2 medium onions, chopped
  4. 1 garlic clove, minced
  5. 2 tbsp of flour
  6. 1 tbsp of butter
  7. 1 tbsp of cooking oil
  8. 2 tsp of curry powder
  9. ½ teaspoon of cumin
Step Wise Instruction:
  1. In a suitably sized saucepan, heat the butter and the oil.
  2. Sauté the onions until they soften, then add the garlic and cook for one minute.
  3. Stir in the curry powder, cumin and flour; then cook for a few seconds.
  4. Whisk in the chicken broth and cook, stirring continuously, until thickened.
  5. Add the cooked lamb cubes and heat though.
  6. Serve with rice and traditional curry condiments.

  1. 6 crushed garlic cloves
  2. 4 tbsp of honey
  3. 4 tbsp of hoi sin sauce
  4. 2 tbsp of soy sauce

  1. Mix all of the ingredients over the turkey.
  2. Place in a 375°F (190°C) oven with a tray filled with water underneath.
  3. Roast for some times..

Lamb Curry

I like this soup alot. Fresh lamb and a nice curry flavor… mmmm.
Total time to cook: 40 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
  1. 2 medium sized bunch
  2. 2 tbsp oil
  3. 8 cloves garlic
  4. 1 medium sized onion
  5. 1 or 2 green chilies
  6. 1 small tomato
  7. 1 tsp coriander powder
  8. salt to taste
Step Wise Instruction:
  1. Wash the spinach and chop finely.
  2. Lightly heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  3. Add the crushed garlic and fry for few seconds till light brown.
  4. Add onions, green chilies and saute on a medium flame till pink.
  5. Add spinach and stir fry on a high flame till the water from the spinach dries completely.
  6. Add the chopped tomato and cook on a high flame for 5 minutes.
  7. Add salt and coriander powder and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with rotis.

Mexican Appetizer

This recipe is a great as an appetizer or just an afternoon snack.

Ingredients:
  1. 4 dozen tortilla chip rounds
  2. 2 cans(8 ounces each) bean dip
  3. sliced nacho-style jalapeno rings
  4. 3/4 cup chili sauce
  5. 12 slices cheese, cut in quarters
  6. guacamole
Step Wise Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Arrange tortilla chips in one layer on baking sheets. On each tortilla chip round, spread bean dip.
  2. Place a jalapeno ring or two on the bean dip.
  3. Drizzle a little salsa or chili sauce over the top and place a cheese slice on each.
  4. Bake until cheese melts, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Top each with a small dollop of guacamole.
  6. Makes about 4 dozen appetizers.
