Simple chocolate and nut cookie recipe
Total time to cook:

Ingredients:
2 large egg whites, at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup granulated sugar
Food color
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Step Wise Instructions:
Heat oven to 275 degrees F. Grease baking sheets.
In a large mixer bowl at high speed, beat egg whites, vanilla extract, cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar and, if desired, a few drops of food color and beat until very stiff and glossy and sugar is almost dissolved.
By hand, fold in pecans and chocolate chips.
Drop by well-rounded teaspoonsful about 1 inch apart on baking sheets.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until set and dry to the touch.
Cool cookies on baking sheets for 1 minute.
Carefully transfer cookies to wire racks to cool.
Store in an airtight container in a cool place.

Easy! Easy! Easy! Chocolate chip cookie dough in a mini-muffin pan with a hershey kiss or mini-peanut butter cup in the center.

Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups butter or margarine
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
2 or 3 Hershey bars, grated
3 eggs
5 tsp vanilla extract
1 package semisweet chocolate chips
1 package peanut butter chips
1 cup nuts, chopped
Step Wise Instructions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Stir together flour, baking soda and salt.
In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract.
Add eggs and beat until well mixed.
Gradually add flour, mixing well between additions.
Stir in chocolate and peanut butter chips and nuts, if desired.
Drop by heaping teaspoons full onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until very lightly browned.
Cool slightly and move to wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 7 dozen good-size cookies.

Easy to make, this chocolate soup recipe is a household favorite

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar — plus
1 tablespoon sugar
5 tablespoons Flour
2 tablespoons Cocoa
4 cups Milk
3 slices bread
1/4 cup butter
Step Wise Instructions:
Combine sugar, flour and cocoa.
Put under broiler and brown, stirring frequently.
Slowly add a little milk until creamy.
Heat the remainder of the milk to boiling point.
Slowly add the cold milk mix, bring again to boiling point.
Add vanilla and salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and dash of salt).
Cube the bread and fry golden brown in the butter. Add the toasted bread at serving time.

Chocolate brownies with a swirl of Walnuts or pecans — coarsely broken marbled throughout.

Ingredients:
1 cup Butter OR
1 cup Butter flavor Crisco
2 cups Granulated sugar
1 cup Light brown sugar
2/3 cup dark corn syrup
6 large Eggs
6 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2 cups Flour
2 cups Walnuts or pecans
¼ tbsp Almond extract
Step Wise Instructions:
Butter the bottom and sides of two 8×8″ square pans (not the same if you use 9×13).
In a large bowl stir butter, sugars, and syrup. Stir in the eggs, one at a time until blended.
In small saucepan, melt chocolate, stir into sugar mixture.
Add almond extract. Add flour and stir until smooth.
Add the nuts and stir until evenly distributed.
Turn into prepared pans, spread evenly.
Bake at 350~ about 40 minutes.
Place on wire rack to cool.
Refrigerate uncovered until cool.
Cut into bars and enjoy.

Ingredients:
5 oz dark organic chocolate
8oz extra firm silken tofu
3 TBS Florida Crystals sugar
3 egg whites
Step Wise Instructions:
Melt chocolate and sugar together in a double boiler stirring constantly.
Puree in blender chocolate, sugar and tofu.
You have to stop once in awhile to scrape the sides of the blender with a rubber spatula.
Transfer chocolate mixture to a bowl scraping blender well to get it all.
Beat egg whites to a semi stiff peak in a separate bowl.
With a rubber spatula, fold egg whites into chocolate, tofu puree 1/3 amount at a time.
Be careful not to over mix.
Refrigerate for best flavor and texture.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 tbsp vegetable shortening
Cookies, dried apricots, miniature pretzels or potato chips
Step Wise Instructions:
Cover tray with wax paper.
Place chocolate chips and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave at high (100%) 1 minute; stir.
If necessary, microwave at high an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred.
Cool slightly.
Dip 2/3 of each snack or fruit into chocolate mixture.
Shake gently to remove excess chocolate.
Place on prepared tray. Refrigerate, uncovered, about 30 minutes or until coating is firm.
Store in airtight container in cool, dry place.

1/2 c Whole-wheat flour
1/2 c Unbleached flour
1 tb Brown sugar
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
Eggs, separated
tbsp Oil
1/2 c Buttermilk
1/2 c Apple Juice
1/4 c Chopped almonds
Step Wise Instructions:
Combine flours, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
Beat egg yolks with oil, buttermilk, and apple juice.
Stir into flour mixture with nuts until all ingredients are moistened.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
Spoon onto a hot, greased griddle and turn once when bubbles appear.

I had been asked to make something using chilli and chocolate for the Monday Munchers this week. So decided try out this new recipe using this weird combination. And it worked

Ingredients:
2 cups diced onion
1 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 tsp minced garlic
1 1/4 pounds ground turkey breast
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp ancho Chile powder
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
2 cans pinto beans, rinsed and drained
2 cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth
2 chipotle chilies, canned in adobo sauce, minced
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup light sour cream
Step Wise Instructions:
Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Coat pan with cooking spray.
Add onion, bell pepper, garlic, and turkey to pan; sauté 8 minutes or until turkey is browned and vegetables are tender.
Add sugar and next 9 ingredients to pan, stirring to blend; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
Add chocolate, stirring to melt.
Ladle 1 1/4 cups chili in each of 8 bowls; top each serving with 1 tablespoon sour cream.
Garnish with green onions.

This pie makes an elegant dessert after a candlelit dinner at home.

Ingredients:
4 ounces german sweet chocolate
1/3 cup milk
2 tbsp sugar
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces cool whip or other prepared whipped; topping, thawed
1 prepared graham cracker pie crust
Step Wise Instructions:
Melt chocolate with 2 tbsp of milk over low heat or in the microwave, stirring until chocolate is melted and smooth.
Beat sugar into cream cheese.
Add remaining milk and chocolate mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Fold in whipped topping.
Spoon into crust, and chill until firm, usually overnight.
